Leading the way in Montessori for North Shore children
Montessori education has become increasingly popular in New Zealand over the past four decades, since the ‘second wave’ of Montessori in the late ‘70s and legislative changes of the past few years. However, the approach and theory first found its way to the country as early as 1912, and the first Montessori kindergarten was established in Wellington in 1915. New Zealanders have embraced the Montessori philosophy, as it has had a continuously positive impact on children and their communities.
As a dedicated Montessori early learning centre just minutes from the heart of the North Shore region, we’re showing how crafting the child’s early learning experience from the ground up can really make a difference to their personal and educational outcomes.
Setting an example for Montessori centres on the North Shore and beyond
Established in 2006, Riverhead Montessori Preschool Learning Centre is leading the way in perfecting the application of Montessori methodologies. We were recently recognised as a school of excellence by the Ministry of Education, which has asked us to assist with training for other early learning centre professionals in the region.
